Mommy, are you a princess??

I keep forgetting to write this one. Carson is such a sweet natured little boy. Everytime were in the dressing room or even just at home, and I'm putting on a dress or skirt, carson just smiles and asks if I am a princess..? All I can do is just pick him up and sway him around and kiss his face all over, and tell him how much I love him 50x. He is the best! xoxoxo

CAKE POPS

How Come I haven't thought of these before?  These little cake pops are such a cute idea for little favor bags for all Carson's friends to take home. OR they can simply be displayed on the table next to his cake. I have no idea how to do a train or airplane themed cake pops. I guess I could just do solid colors from whatever colors we do for the birthday. That would be easy.  I wish his birthday would get here. Not that I want him to get older, but I need an excuse to start shopping for all this stuff, and baking!!!!  :)

Antsy, Pantsy....for camping!

I have not been able to do our Annual camping trip for few years. This year I will be going, and so will Carson. It will be his first time camping as well. I know he will love it. He loves being outside. We plan to play a lot of baseball by the lake, fishing in Papa Wad-dey's boat, and eating a lot of Smores. Wal-Mart sells these Marshmallows that are thin and square--perfect for fitting on the also "NEW" Graham crackers that are square instead of long, and it will be perfect together. It will be nice to get away from work and home life. The rest of the clan doesn't arrive until next weekend, and unfortunately we would love to be there but we have already committed to the Dedication game for Mike. The "old" team will be playing again, and wearing mikes #. I believe its # 21. I cant find a good baseball Tee for Carson, so I will just have him wear a white shirt, and then mark on the back "Lil Bettis" and w/ the # 21 on it as well. It will be cute anyway. I will take a lot of pictures I'm sure. I want to get as many pictures as possible for Carson's book (about his daddy)I would like to have completed by Carson's 3rd birthday. I want to leave a few blank pages in the back, for anybody that would like to sign something for carson. Maybe a favorite memory about his daddy, or something they loved about him most, whatever they want. So after that book is complete, then I really need to get in gear with printing this blog, which will take no time in all, since its pretty much done.  :) 

We have been spending a lot of time w/ Krystal and Kason at their house. It's nice to be outside and not stuck inside our house, with our very noisy neighbors---landlords! There building a pool house, which seems to almost be as tall as their house, and so all the construction noises are driving me crazy!

Well we cant wait for Friday 07/01/11---were going to Papa Wad-deys house, and staying the night. Were going to go fill up our Tanks, and get any last minute things at the store, so that way on Sat morning, at 6am, all we have to do is get up, load, and take off for the mountains.

On a hot summer day..there were two boys.....

Me and Carson went over to Krystal and Kason's house yesterday--Monday 06/27/11, and the boys got to play with some cool water squirt guns, a beach ball, and a little kiddie pool. They loved it. There was also a "cars" themed slip in slide. Carson wanted nothing to do w/ that of course, and when Krystal "assisted" him with going down it, water got in his face, and he just acted like a big baby. It's not like he never gets water in his face. He does all the time during his baths. A lot of fun was had. I played photographer, and got some great photos of 2 little buddies playing together. Carson's lil swimming trunks kept falling off on the back, so I made him stand real still so I could get a picture, and he let me take more than 1. :) :) I rolled down his swim diaper just to get another one w/ the top of his cute little bum showing. Of course I have to have pictures like these, for later on when he's in school, and has girlfriends. Love him. Love our friends, and it was so nice to be outside and watch them play. :) Here are some pictures. There is also little Stella in her swim suit.

Carson believes every tractor is out to get him!

Doesnt matter where we are, even if were at home, and the landlord is using his big "Yawn [lawn] Mower" to mow his grass. He gets all sad and scared, and says the tractor is going to get him. When were in the car going places, or during the drive to Caroles House, when we pass by a tractor (even if its parked), he scrunches up his nose, and its so cute, but he is convinced that the tractor will get him. Poor Baby!

Kiss, Kiss....bleh!!!!

This has got to be the funniest thing ever to date that Carson has done or said. Actually its probably #2. I will explain why. Couple nights ago, we were playing on the couch and I had my feet propped up on the coffee table, and Carson was jumping around by my feet, climbing over them and all....one time he was kissing my leg, or something, and then he went to kiss my feet, on the tops of them, but I have some serious foot odor, and I've seen a Podiatrist, I have to take medication, to kill the bacteria, anyhow he kissed my feet two times, and then the very last time, he let out the biggest "BLLLEEEHHHHH", cause he knows how bad they are. It was so funny. I think I would rank this #2 just because the first time when we were playing and pretending to smell each other's feet, he did actually smell mine for reals, and then he just had this strange look on his face and then he pretended to pass out, so he actually fell backwards, and let out a big "EW YUCKY FEET MOMMY"... poor little honey, but it was so so funny. I will never forget that. I need to get some of this on camera and maybe send it in the Funniest Home Video's. It's great! Love Him!

Having 2nd thoughts!

For Carson's birthday this year, I have been pretty set with doing "trains". Not Thomas the Train. I dont really prefer the Cartoon-ish stuff. Carson acts so grown up already, were probably already passed the cartoon stuff stage.  I've been thinking about "Dinosaurs" mainly because Carson is always walking around the house pretending to be a dinosaur, and he makes such a cute one, that I thought about getting his dinosaur pose on camera so I could use that for his invitation. I like a lot of the cakes I have seen online. I could do a sheet cake for his guests, and then 12 or so cupcakes with dinosuar eggs on top. I just think it is so cute. Were taking a train ride this summer some time, so I wanted to get his picture on the train in a cute conductor hat, and use that for his picture. I dont know. There is still 4months away, but in my mind--this is crunch time. I always like to be ahead, so when it comes time to have the party, I am worry free, and everything is done. Maybe I should leave the decision up to Carson---afterall it is his birthday.

Big Boy by himself

Carson doesn't ask for much help these days--cause he's a big boy!! He says he wants to do "all by myself".....even when it comes time to hit the John. He told me "get outta here mommy, I go potty".. so as I was trying to not get choked up, I did as I was told, and I left the bathroom, and I even gave him some privacy by closing the door a little ways. He's so perfect!

We went over to visit our friends and the boys played in Kason's Jeep. They always have a good time together. I just love watching them play.



ITS NELMO and DOO-RAH!!!

Dont even try to correct Carson. When he sees Elmo and Dora--that is the way its pronounced and so you should say it that way too. I just love the way he talks---he talks like such a little adult!

Carson's got money in his pocket!

So thats where all my loose change goes---in carsons pocket. I use to have a lot, and now he has taken it all. He puts it in his pocket and pats and says momma I got money. So one time when we were snuggling on the couch with "his" blankie, that he apparently bought, I asked him if he bought the blankie and he sais "Yes momma, I got money" so I say "you do?" You got a job, where does your money go? "Carson says "In my pocket" So funny how he picks up on things like that, and put everything together, he knows the meaning of my questions and the type of responses i'm looking for. I just love him!

Learning Colors in the Morning--

Every morning on our drive to Carole's house--its quite the drive so we have plenty of time in the morning to talk and to learn our colors--so anytime a big truck or tractor drives by, or just a big semi truck something to catch Carson's eyeball, I ask him what color it is, and he gets it right almost every time. Were just having trouble with Brown and Black, and sometimes yellow. He is so smart. I just love him to peices.

me: where did ur Cereal go?

Carson: my tummy.

Me: where does it go after that?

Carson:my butt!!!!!! I'm dieing over here!!! He's funnier than most adults!!!!

The BRIGHTEST STAR

This has only happened a few times, but I wanted to document it anyway. A couple of times when Carson and I were out playing basketball late at night at our house, there was this one Bright Star and it seemed to always be in the same place night after night--I think it would blink at us from time to time. It seemed a lot lower and closer to us than any other star in the sky too. So I am lead to believe that was Mikey---watching us, and protecting us, and telling me that I am doing a good job with Carson, and that he is NEVER FAR AWAY, and that when I need him, or when Carson needs him, all we have to do is just look up to the sky and he is there ready to listen. We love him, and miss him so much everyday!

Daddy's birthday

April, 7th 2011

Well this was one difficult day for us. It was Mikes birthday! He would have been 29years old. And the day before-04/06/11 was 5months anniversary that he has been gone from us. We sure miss him. We went to the cemetary and hung out there for a little while. The brothers and Dave went and hit golf balls off the hill, and it was so nice to watch and be a part of. After that, we went back to Brians house and got some dinner, and had cake. Annie that knows Mike has a bakery in Nampa called Miss Ellie's Cakes--and I had asked her if she could make a Golf cake for Mike, and it turned out so WONDERFUL! So I got plenty of pictures of the cake, and then we also sang to Mike, we sang Happy Birthday! I really wanted to do it, not sure how everyone else felt about it, but I am so glad we did this. I think Carson will be interested in seeing this when he gets older and understands more. I think every year, we will at least light a candle on Mikes birthday, and have Carson blow it out. I think that will be really special.

HATS GALORE!!!

If you know Carson, you know that you will always find him with a hat/beanie on. He loves hats, always wants to wear one, and he has got quite the assortment. So I figured most of these he is outgrowing, so I wanted to take a picture of the hats that he owns, cause we are going to let his cousin Baby Brayden borrow them, cause he's almost big enough to wear them now. We Love Hats!!!

I'm Jen, but I also go by Mommy!

This is just really cute. I taught Carson how to say my name, and its definitely wierd to hear coming from him, but out of the blue when we were checking out at Wal-Mart, instead of saying Mommy, he said "Jen", and then he also says "Jennifer".. It was the strangest thing... lol.. love that boy.

SWIMMING LESSONS

Carson is scheduled for 5 days of swimming lessons w/ Carole's daughter Kristi at her house. Her 2 boys Brogan, and Hayden are friends of carsons, and Carole is their grandmother so they get to play w/ carson at daycare. Carson is always asking Kristi if he can go home w/ them to play. :) So we are ready and I think Carson is excited. I"m nervous of course, I wont be there to watch, but I think he will have a good time. Kristi will take good care of him and I bet he will catch on really fast.

First ever Boat ride/Cutest little fisherman

This weekend, we went to hang w/ my daddy, or as carson would say "His Papa Wad-dey" :) :) and he bought a boat few months back, so he's going to take us for a ride on it this weekend. I havent been in a boat since the first boat he owned and sold. Carson has Never been in a boat. He always says he wants too, but I know the second he sees it get in the water, it will become really "real" to him, and he might have a little fit. Im trying to toughen him up, but all these months of loving on him so much, and kissing his owies, and saying dont get dirty, might have turned him into a mommy's boy, which I"m fine with. BUT! Our family camping trip is coming upon us, theres always lots of kids so Carson needs to get out there with them, and enjoy the outdoors. He is a boy afterall. AND I"M HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE WITH HIM!

WE got 3 fish total. I had several bites but either I reeled them into fast, or not fast enough, so I lost each one of mine.. GRR!! My dad however is a pro, and he got 2 big catfish and then a little white fish. I love fishing, its fun. The anticipation of getting something and not knowing what it is, and reeling a fish in that feels really big. We went all the way to Ontario by the walmart, and then turned back, we fished all the way to walmart and then all the way back. It was nice hot day. I got sunburned on my arms, and my nose. I kept carson pretty lathered up, he got a little bit of color on his arms and hands, and some on his feet. He's so cute. He was getting really sleepy on the way back, and he managed to catch a few zzz's even with all the wind blowing in his face, I got some cute smiles from him in some pictures when he was trying to sleep. I asked if he wanted me to hold him, so I could block some wind from his face, but he didn't want to, he just wanted to sit right inbetween me and papa wad-dey. He drove the boat, and he loved that. Papa asked if he wanted me to drive, and carson said NO, we will crash!!!! HAHAHAHAHAAH!!!! Papa must have told him about the wrecks I"ve been in as a teenager. HAHAHA!!!

2nd HAIRCUT----

Carson loves going to this place, and so went again, just so he can sit in the little power wheel car on stiltz (thats what I call it), and he got a little trim. Well his hair grows so fast, so were going back again for a third time. Pictures to follow for his 3rd haircut. Here are some from his 2nd Haircut...

A NEW FRIEND IS BORN!

Carson has a new little lady in his life---beautiful little Stella Riele Sorenson. Her parents are our good friends Krystal and Todd, and big brother Kason--who is a great little buddy of Carson's. Stella is such a little sweetie. Cant wait til she gets a lil older to really know what she will look like. I'm hoping for her Dark hair to stay, and to have piercing Baby Blue eyes.

Carson will have # 21!!!

That was mikes # on his softball shirt that I was just given by his parents. I also received a box of his hats that he had. Since I have always had the Need to "SMELL" everything I come in contact with, I had to smell his hats, and yes they do have a "box" type smell, but they also smell as if he had just worn it the day before, like a sweaty head smell. So one of the shirts that mike use to wear playing softball had the # 21 on it, so even thought shirt is too big now, CARSON will be even bigger than his daddy, and he will be in that same shirt in no time. In the meantime, when he starts T-Ball, I will see if I can get him a customized half sleeve baseball shirt and put the # 21 on the back with "BETTIS" on it. Mike was good at every sport, and I am so confident that Carson will be too. I can just visualize it now. I'm currently thinking of the movie "field of dreams" but instead of the famous basball players visiting him, it will be his daddy!


I found a place online that you can customize a baseball tee, so I will do that and have "BETTIS" on the back w/ # 21 on it.

MEMORIAL DAY 2011

"FIRST VISIT w/ DAD SINCE 11/6/2010"
Pretty sad day for us. For me. I went to visit Mikes grave and I took Carson with me, I wasnt sure if it would end up being a good idea or not, since I haven't really talked to carson about that, cause I dont know whats really age appropriate. All I ever say is that his Daddy loves him, and he is in Heaven watching him w/ Jesus. Anyhow, we both went to the grave site, and saw the most beautiful headstone there was. IT was just so PERFECT and beautiful JUST LIKE MIKE! It was so HIM!!! His picture is on the front, and the tattoo that he had on his arm (that later, all his brothers got as well to memorize him by) is on the backside of the headstone with "BETTIS" underneath. The second we walked right up to it, carson ran to it and kissed the picture and gave him a big hug and said "MY DADDY" It was just so sweet and lovingly. It's almost like Carson knew and that he was doing ok. He danced around the headstone and kept looking back at the picture and touched the picture and smiled and just completely loved on his daddy's picture. I got some great pictures to share. They are beautiful!!

Paranormal Activy (part 2)

I think I spoke on the first occassion before about this. Well there was a 2nd time, and I want to say that it was after his daddy passed. It was the same scenario as last except this time he came running out of our little hallway and started whining and just pointed and said "Scary Witch".. Needless to say, I didn't sleep very good that night, or that week. :) It was a little scary to fall asleep with that on my head. I never saw the Ghost from the first episode, I REALLY hope I DO NOT SEE a WITCH!! I think of a WITCH, and I dont get pretty images in my brain. So whatever/whoever is in my house should probably find a new roommate, cause it scared my little boy, and I"m really protective of him even more so! I"m such a scaredy cat, so I hope it doens't happen anymore. We dont watch scary movies, so I have no idea how he even learned of a "witch". Owell...it hasn't happend again since then. Hope it stays that way. Or we are MOVING OUT OF THE COUNTRY! :)

10/31/2034

I"m not sure why I wrote this down on my list of blog posts, but I remember playing around w/ some #'s and I wanted to see what year Carson would turn 18, but doing the math for this year--2034 would make him 26years old. So maybe this was to see when my employee insurance wouldn't cover him anymore if I stay at Blue Cross. I cant think of why else I had this date in my head. Carson will be 16 October 15, 2024 and then 18 years old in 2027. That just seems way bizarre. But 10 years ago, I thought 2011 would be wierd, and cause were living in this year now, it seems fine and normal. Lol!

Rotten Butt boy!! Pue-Wey!!

This was some time ago, few months back I guess. Carson had some real awful days of some type of diarrhea. It was just really watery and poopy colored liquid. It was so sad for him, cause every 5 minutes he would say "I poopied" and even tho there wasnt a "true" bowel, there was a lil bit in there, and it probably burned his lil bum, so we literally went thru an entire box of diapers in just a couple of days. Thank HEAVANS that is done with.

NEW RIDE---

I decided it was time to invest in a larger vehicle! I told my Little neon good riddance and I traded it in for a nice 2006 Chevy Trailblazer. It's already packed with toys like crazy. Carson loves it, he loves how higher he sits up in the back, and I love all the cargo space---one thing a NEON lacks. I always have so much of "Carson Stuff" to haul around, so this is great for us. I cringe on Gas Day, which is about every 4-5days. As I'm writing this, it can take about $70 to do a complete filler up. It will be interesting to read this post in a few years if I still have it, and then see how much it takes then---probably doubled by then the way these gas prices are rising weekly!!!!! GRRRRR!!!!!!

I wanna hold you!!

What this really means is, he wants you to hold him, but I love the way he's asks. Sometimes I pretend to lean towards him and say "Ok lil honey you can hold me", and then he says noooo I wanna hold you!!!! Its' so cute, and I love him more than anything in life--more than he will be able to comprehend.

Everyone else did it...

It's funny how carson blames his little injuries on other kids who are not even around at the time it happens. I cant help but laugh. He even blames it on Papa Wally or in Carsons' pronounciation its Papa Waddey. I just fall over laughing, and then he tells me "No funny momma", and then I really cant stop laughing. He would say that all the time, I haven't heard him say that in few months, but it's hysterical.

ThanksGiving/Christmas 2010/ Just the TWO of us

These were tougher Holidays for all of us! It was hard to be happy and in a great mood, cause we all had 1 person on our minds. Mikey!!! We sure missed him at the festivities. We missed him so much more than ever at the dinner table at grandmas. Infact I dont think anyone even spoke a single word-it was so quiet. The only sound was the occassional scraping of the dinner plates or shuffling back and forth to the kitchen for 2nds. The food was definitely a hit! But it was hard to celebrate when we had just lost a brother, uncle, friend, son, and FATHER to Carson. Some say it gets easier in time, and I believe that, but for now before the easy part, is all the challenges we face, and the trying times. For Christmas, carson was spoiled as he usually is. I didnt' really get any pictures these holidays cause I wasnt in the mood I suppose.

CARSON TURNS 2----a second time??

I guess I already did a post on his 2nd, it was a lot of fun to plan and celebrate w/ our family and friends. Great food, carson got spoiled in presents as well, I got some pictures, not as much as I wanted, and I always say I am going to play photographer, but who am I kidding, I've got a party for a sweet lil handsome love to throw for. This next year for his 3rd birthday will be a little bit tougher for us, because we will be missing someone. Carson's daddy. We know that he is in spirit and in our hearts, but its hard to think that even tho he's not in the flesh, that he's not there. So Carson's 2nd birthday was the last birthday carson had w/ his daddy. I think I got one really good picture of them two together--maybe. I sure hope so. I feel awful that were already lacking family pictures together, and all these great ones of JUST CARSON by HIMSELF. So from now on, I am going to get annual pictures of the "2" of us, and make sure to get plenty of us two in between.


I hope that we will have a lot of friends and family at his 3rd birthday as we will all be missing that 1 important special person, and its going to be hard to do it on our own from now on---but we have a great support system and were never alone. Just look to the sky, he will be there! I thought I had done a post about the passing of Mike, I swear up and down that I did. He passed on 11/6/10, from a seizure, and he was in his home.

WERE BACK!!

We were never gone, but seems that way from this blog. I haven't done any updates in months. I was much better at keeping it all up to date when I was staying at home with carson FT. I would like to at least add a post once a week. I feel like Carson is just growing up way to fast before my eyes, I need to keep up w/ him. It's sad, cause I want to be able post on the day or Near the day that it actually happens so that the Date Stamp is correct. I have kept a list pretty close by to jot down titles of what each post would be about, and looking back I cant remember what each one was about so I will do my best, and being that my internet has been not avail since that first big snow storm in DEC makes it harder to access to update. It says my last post is October 2010. I thought I had posted after that. Well we will begin w/ Carsons 2nd birthday that occured on 10/15/11, and the MOST SPECIAL ONE, and that reason will be explained.
